The streets of Reefton were buzzing on Saturday 11 July as more than 320 vehicles rolled into town for the annual Reefton Vehicle Display, drawing enthusiasts and visitors from across the country and making the event the biggest one yet.
10 food and craft stalls added to the atmosphere and the event transformed the town into a vibrant mid-winter destination. Fine weather and strong support from local businesses helped make the day another outstanding success.
Visitor Stephen Roberts summed up the atmosphere perfectly: “What a fab turnout – so many cars and peeps and the town was just humming. Reefton is easily the most exciting town on the Coast, so much happening. Embracing history and preserving it for the world to see.”
Organisers Vanessa Stewart, Guy Stewart, and Aleisha Wallace were thrilled with the generosity of those who attended, with an impressive $6,522 raised for Hato Hone St John Reefton. The funds will go towards upgrading local AED equipment and supporting the upcoming Reefton St John Youth event.
The organising team extends its sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the day possible, including sponsors, local businesses, volunteers and the Reefton Motor Camp. A special thank you also goes to the wonderful food and craft stall holders, whose support helped create such a fantastic event.
Next years event will be on Saturday 26 June 2027, over Matariki weekend.
