Head out to Slab Hut Creek camping area on SH7 to try your luck at gold panning – visit the Reefton Visitor & Service Centre to hire a pan and pick up a gold panning brochure.

Alternatively, visit the Bearded Miners where flakes of gold are ‘guaranteed’ to be found!
