Reefton’s Saturday market is back and it’s buzzing! Starting on Labour weekend in October, the market is now on every Saturday from 10am – 2pm until Easter Weekend 2026.
The market is run collectively by the stallholders. Tessa Hunter from Koa is one of the artists who takes part. “It’s a community market and everybody who’s a stallholder is involved,” she says. “There’s no committee, just everyone doing it together.”
Stalls vary each week, but expect food, art, crafts, fresh produce and more. “We have artists, flame glass blowers, loom weavers, fibre artists, natural balm makers, butchers, breadmakers, pounamu, eggs, honey, outdoor furniture, plants and more,” says Tessa. “It’s a really nice community space open to everyone, both to visit as well as have a stall.”
Tessa says the best way to get involved is to head down to check out the vibe for yourself. “Come and buy local to support local artisan and local produce and be part of the community.”
